Obituary

John A."Jack" Castellon of Readington Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 11, 2016 with his loving wife by his side. He was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, then lived in Blue Bell, PA for several years, moving to Readington over 27 years ago.

Jack graduated from Lincoln High School (Philadelphia) in 1961 and in 1967 received his Associates of Science Degree in Electronic-Electrical Engineering Technology from Spring Garden Institute, Philadelphia.

While earning his associates degree he began his 44 year career with AT&T as a Communication Technician in Philadelphia retiring in 2005 as a Technical Staff Member in the Network Operations Center in Bedminster, NJ. While at AT&T, he earned his Federal Communication Commission General Radiotelephone Operator License.

Jack enjoyed many hobbies including computer, electronics and automotive repair, gardening, working outdoors, coin collecting, and financial planning. He was also known to spend many a Sunday morning working the Jumble puzzle. He was also a blood drive contributor for over 50 years and was the Secretary/Board Member of the Whitpain Township, PA Municipal Authority.

Jack spent many summers on Long Beach Island enjoying his parent's beach house, and would later celebrate wedding anniversaries on the island with Christine.

At the time of his passing, Jack was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church as the Head of the Food Pantry Ministry. He was also the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Central Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and a technical consultant with Bio-Med Associates in Flemington.

He was predeceased by his parents John and Florence (Gillis) Castellon and her second husband, Martin Reid, and his cherished daughter, Suzanne Fleischmann.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 27 years, Christine (New) Castellon, whom he married on October 1, 1988, daughter Jennifer Wimmer and husband Glenn Jr., son-in-law Craig Fleischmann, grandchildren Devon Fleischmann and Haley and Ryan Wimmer, sister Linda Debrovner and husband Martin, and nieces and nephew Beth Debrovner Ollenburger, Emily Debrovner Bavouset, and John Debrovner, and many other relatives and friends.

Family & friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, April 16 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges.

Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Stockbridge, MA on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's memory to the Flemington Area Food Pantry, PO Box 783, Flemington, NJ 08822, flemingtonfoodpantry.org.
