Somerset, NJ –  It is with a heavy heart and somber mood that we must share the sad news of the passing of our beloved husband and father, John Petromelis.  Dear family and cherished friends, our "Merry Mailman" has made his last delivery.  At the ripe old age of 91 he never ceased to share his good humor, jokes and stories - many times over, and his commitment to morals and values.  God has now called upon him to take on a new delivery route from which he can continue to bring joy to all those he interacts with.  He will truly be missed.

Gone is the face we loved so dear, Silent is the voice we loved to hear; Too far away for sight or speech, But not too far for thought to reach, Sweet to remember him who once was here, And who, though absent, is just as dear.

John Petromelis was a beloved husband of Phyllis Petromelis, loving father of Christopher, Theodore (Ted), Achilles, father-in-law to Georgette and Jennifer, and dear grandfather to Xavier.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, New Jersey from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church, 85 Voorhees Corner Road, Flemington, New Jersey, 08822.  John will be laid to rest at Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Cemetery in Hillsborough.  Memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
