Obituary

Upper Black Eddy, PA- Joseph "Joe" J. Abbate, 65, died on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at his home in Upper Black Eddy, PA. Born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Norman and Fanny (Pappa) Abbate, he lived in Three Bridges settling to Upper Black Eddy in 1988.

Joe was a self-employed painter having owned and operated Three Bridges Painting for many years; he took great pride in his painting skills and his "old school" attitude. Joe loved spending time with his friends whom he considered family; friends from Pippolo Pizza in Milford, Homestead General Store in Upper Black Eddy and Countryside Funeral Home in Three Bridges. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Joe's greatest joy came from watching his "little princess" Jennifer grow up; he was a devoted dad and true friend to many. His free spirit and sense of humor will live on.

Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by a brother, Norman Abbate.

Joe leaves behind his wife, Sharon L. Kulesza of Upper Black Eddy, PA. He will be deeply missed by his cherished daughter, Jennifer Abbate of Upper Black Eddy, PA, presently attending college in New York and brother Anthony Abbate of Three Bridges.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a reflection of life service at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, February 24 from 5-7 p.m.
