Dr. Joseph A. Hoffman, Sr.'s Obituary
Somerset, NJ- Dr. Joseph A. Hoffman, Sr., 87, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at home. Born in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Harry and Agnes (nee Melocik) Hoffman, he lived in Bridgewater, NJ, before settling to Somerset.
Dr. Hoffman retired as owner and president of Geon Associates in Bridgewater and was a member of the American Chemical Society. He lived a full life and loved traveling as well as spending quality time with his family at their Beach Haven home on Long Beach Island. Dr. Hoffman
was an avid Reader and enjoyed playing Bridge and Sudoku. He also loved hunting, fishing and shooting. Dr. Hoffman was a devout catholic and a faithful communicant of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church in Bridgewater, NJ, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Besides his parents, Dr. Joseph was predeceased by his beloved wife, Viola Marie (DiLeo) Hoffman, who died on May 4, 2016; and a brother, Richard Hoffman.
Dr. Hoffman is survived by four loving children, Joseph A. Hoffman, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Somerset, Mary Lynn Hawkinson of Somerset, Michael Hoffman and his wife Britton of Beach Haven, NJ, and Mary Beth Adams and her husband Greg of Flemington, NJ. He will be deeply missed by eleven cherished grandchildren, Eric, Jennifer, Christian, Carter, Michael, Kelsey, Christopher, Taylor, Jonathan, Kathleen, and Julianne; and three adored great grandchildren, Shoal, Logan, and Forest.
