Readington Township, NJ – Joseph D. Iellimo, 80, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark to his late parents Domenick and Rose M. (Polizzi) Iellimo, he had resided in Piscataway before settling in Readington Township thirty-four years ago.

Joe was honorably discharged from the United States Army after faithfully serving his country during World War II. Joseph retired in 1991 as a Superintendent for the Piscataway Township Department of Public Works after thirty-three years of faithful employment. For sixty years, Joe was a musician having played in several bands throughout the United States, including Las Vegas. He most recently played with the Scatternotes.

Joe attended the Readington Reformed Church, was a member of the Musicians Union and the local VFW.

Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara D. (Carson) Iellimo who died on June 3, 2003, and by two dear siblings Anna Strano and Loretta Carlucci.

Surviving are his loving and devoted children; Domenick Iellimo of Forked River, Jo Ann Silvestri of Lake Worth, FL, Pamela Haines of Readington Township, and
Aaron Iellimo of Califon; and his dear sister Delores Ferraioli of Nutley, NJ. He will be deeply missed by his six cherished grandchildren and five adored great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2008 beginning 10:00am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 with Reverend Cathy Gumpert of the Readington Reformed Church officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the funeral home on Friday, March 21, 2008 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and on Saturday from 9:00am until service time. Joe will be laid to rest beside his wife at Readington Reformed Church Cemetery.
