Readington Township, NJ- Joseph Klimchak, Jr., 87, entered into eternal life on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. Born in Czechoslovakia to his late parents Joseph and Tessie (Strenk) Klimchak, Sr., he resided in Brooklyn for many years before settling to the Three Bridges section of Readington Township twenty years ago. Since November of 2005, Joseph has been a resident of Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough.



Joseph was honorably discharged from the United States Army after faithfully serving his country as a sergeant during World War II. He served in the Battle of the Bulge and had been awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal. He was also honored with the Belgian Fourragere Award.

While residing in Brooklyn, he was a member of Local 246 SEIU, having been employed by the City of New York, Department of Sanitation as a mechanic for many years. After moving to Three Bridges, Joseph became a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion both in Flemington.

Joseph leaves behind his beloved wife Stephanie (Pilipiak) Klimchak, his loving and devoted children: daughter and son-in-law Janet and Bill Munk, son and daughter-in-law Bob and Lori Klimchak, two dear brothers John Klimchak and George Klimchak. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Chris Munk and his wife Michelle, Amy Sullivan and her husband Chris, Andrew, Julie and Evan Klimchak, and by his four great grandchildren Casey and Sidney Munk, Shay and Jettie Sullivan each of whom will miss him dearly.
