Flemington, NJ- Julia (nee Neary) Finney, 68, entered into eternal life on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Born in Natick, MA, daughter of the late John E. and Mary A. (nee Brady) Neary, she was raised in Bound Brook and resided in Readington Township for the last 35 years.
Julia graduated from Trenton State College in 1974 before beginning her career with AT&T as a project manager. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching (particularly hummingbirds), vacationing in the Outer Banks, drinking wine with good friends, being with family, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was generous with her love, affection, and time. Wherever Julia went, joy, fun, laughter, and good stories were sure to follow.
Julia is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas E. Finney; three loving children, Meghan Green and her husband Robert, Jack Finney and his partner Amanda, and Chris Finney; five dear siblings, Mary E. Neary, Patrick Neary and his wife Patricia, Cathleen Hynoski, Ellen Hazy and her husband Jim, and Clare Neary; and three cherished grandchildren, Peter, Gwendolyn, and Thomas. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Wednesday, January 13, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, January 14, from 9:15-10:15 a.m.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, the service will be recorded and available at a link provided the following day. For those attending, a maximum of 50 people at any one time will be allowed in the viewing area. We ask that you pay your respects to Julia's family and allow others to do the same. Masks and social distancing are required.
Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, January 14, at 10:15 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges. Memorial contributions may be made in Julia's name to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065.
