Raritan Township, NJ – Katherine (Dorio) Mannuzza, 90, died on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Princeton University Hospital in Princeton. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was raised in Linden and lived in Lake Hopactong until 1982 and for the past four months had been a resident of Stonebridge at Montgomery Nursing Home located in Skillman.

Katherine was a homemaker, a member of the Rocksbury Township Senior Citizen's and a volunteer for many years at Dover General Hospital.


Katherine was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph S. Mannuzza on November 17, 1977, and by her dear parents Placido & Giovannina (Buonacore) Dorio.

Katherine leaves behind her loving children, Carmela and her husband John Ahlers of Branchburg and Frank and his wife Eleanore Mannuzza of Chelmsford, MA. She will be dearly missed by her cherished five grandchildren June Darrow, William Hoctor, Christine Withers, Joseph & David Mannuzza and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 beginning at 9:15am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by a 10:00am funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges. Katherine will be laid to rest in Rosedale Cemetery in Linden. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Thursday from 9:00am until service time.
