Raritan Township, NJ – Katherine (Bassig) Warechowski, 93, died on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township. Born in Buck Run, PA, she had lived in Newark for many years, returning to Buck Run and then settling to Ringoes three years ago.


Katherine retired as a nurse's aide for the Irvington Nursing Home.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Warechowski, who died in 1998, a son-in-law William Campbell in 1997, also by three sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her daughters; Mary Ann Campbell of Raritan Township, NJ and Joan and husband Gene Bodniowycz of Bethlehem, GA, two brothers John and George Bassig, her grandchildren Devan Wilhalme and Michael Bodniowycz and great-grandchildren Kayla and Matthew Wilhalme.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2006 beginning 9:15am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by a 10:00am funeral liturgy at St. Magdalen's Roman Catholic Church in Flemington. Committal words will be held at 1:00pm at the family plot in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Minersville, PA. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the funeral home from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Thursday from 8:45am until service time.
