Hudson, FL-Kenneth C. Macri, 80, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Spring Hill, FL. He was born and raised in North Haledon, NJ, to the late John "Giovanni" and Dorothea (Kuhnert) Macri. He resided in Oak Ridge, NJ for many years before retiring to Spring Hill, FL, and finally Hudson, FL.
As a young man Kenneth faithfully served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War and also served as a volunteer Fireman in North Haledon, NJ. He retired as a truck driver from Beacon Fast Freight Co. of Kearny and Great Bear Spring Water Co. of Teterboro. He was a member of the Cycle Alley Riders Motorcycle Club and the New Jersey Club of Spring Hill, FL. During his life, Kenneth enjoyed riding motorcycles, bowling, golfing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Kenneth was predeceased by his brother Jack Macri, his wife of 27 years Marian Krautheim and his longtime friend Doris Stefany.
Kenneth leaves behind his six children, Kenneth Macri, Jr. of Hudson, FL, Linda Stefany and husband Rick of Readington, NJ, Joseph Macri of Hudson, FL, Jean Collins and husband Mark of Floyd, VA, Teresa Macri Weems formerly of Montague, NJ, and Michael J. Macri formerly of Oak Ridge, NJ. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Ricky, Stephanie and Joseph, a great-grandchild Tristan and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Flemington, NJ 08822 on Saturday, March 26 from 9:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. Funeral services will begin 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 at the funeral home followed by interment at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the "American Red Cross" to support relief efforts in Japan.
