Monroe Township, NJ—LaVerne M. (Anderson) Linskey, 84, passed away on Tuesday April 4 th at the Monroe Village Healthcare facility in Monroe, NJ. A proud first generation Swedish-American, LaVerne was born in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Olaf Paul and Marie Elise (Lindquist) Anderson of Sweden.
Married to Elwood Linskey for 64 years, they lived in Illinois and Medfield, Massachusetts before settling in Branchburg, NJ in 1970. LaVerne was always involved in her community and causes close to her heart. She was a long-time member of the Readington Reformed Church, where she presided as Elder and volunteered on many committees in addition to establishing their library. Proud of her Swedish roots, LaVerne was very active with the Vasa Order of America, Skandia Lodge 356, the Roadrunners Travel Club whose trips brought her and Elwood wonderful memories of trips taken and friendships made. LaVerne was also a past President of the Branchburg Women's Club and was active in the Branchburg League of Women Voters. An avid reader, LaVerne also treasured her time as a founding volunteer with the Branchburg Library in Neshanic Station.
LaVerne's greatest pleasure was sharing her life with her husband, Elwood, and raising their three children, Kathy, Mark and Paul. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Besides her parents, LaVerne was predeceased by her four brothers; Kenneth, Walter, Gunnar, and Bert Anderson. LaVerne leaves behind three loving and devoted children; Kathleen Linskey of Hinsdale, NH; Dr. Mark Linskey and wife, JoAnne, of Newport Beach, CA; and Paul Linskey and wife, Lori, of Princeton Junction, NJ, and grandchildren Ryan and Reilly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Saturday, April 8 th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Graveside services will immediately follow on Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Readington Reformed Church Cemetery, 124 Readington Road, (Route 620), Readington, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in LaVerne's name to the Readington Reformed Church.Saturday
