Obituary

Lee Francis Jacobs, Sr., 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Flemington, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Lee was the beloved son of the late Henry and Esther (née Moran) Jacobs. In 1964, he moved to Union, NJ, and later made his home in Flemington, in 1996.

Lee proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963. Following his military service, he built a successful career at Merck & Co. in Rahway and Whitehouse Station, where he worked as Supervisor of Computer Operations until his retirement in 2003.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Lee was deeply involved in his family's lives. He was a steadfast supporter of his children and grandchildren's activities. In his earlier years he served as Scoutmaster of Troop 69 at St. Michael's Church in Union where he helped many young men achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also a faithful parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, NJ.

Lee found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved golfing and was a former member of Oak Hill Golf Club. He especially enjoyed spending time outdoors, he took great pride in his woodpile, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, loved spending time in the woods with his dog, walks on the beach in Hilton Head and bike rides with his beloved wife. Above all else, Lee treasured his family. Time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and dog brought him his greatest happiness.

Lee is survived and will be profoundly missed by his devoted wife of sixty years, Aleedra (née Merman) Jacobs; his loving children, Lee Jacobs, Jr., of Bedminster, Marilyn Geraghty and her husband, Robert, of Cranford; his three cherished grandchildren, Kieran, Theodore, and Jane; his treasured niece, Molly Garavito; as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Committal prayers and interment will take place privately at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Monday.
