Leon A. Stawicki, 59, of Readington Township, entered into enternal rest on Thursday, November 23, 2006 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. Born in Carteret to his late parents Edward and Helen (Dobosciewicz) Stawicki, he resided in Edison before settling in Readington Twp. seven years ago.
Leon was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after being wounded during training to become a Navy Seal. He retired as a carpenter in 1990 from the Local Carpenters Union of Madison. Leon was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church in Flemington, the Masonic Lodge of Metuchen, and was a former member of the Edison Elks.
Surviving are his beloved wife Barbara A. (Sulo) Stawicki with whom he joined hands in marriage on August 2, 1980, and his dear brother Raymond Stawicki of Scotch Plains.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, New Jersey 08887 on Sunday, November 26, 2006 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Calvary Episcopal Church, 44 Broad Street, Flemington at a time to be announced.
