Hillsborough, NJ – Lorraine M. Barnett, 95, entered eternal life on March 22, 2024 at home with her family. Born in Woodland, PA, daughter of the late Frederick Reynolds and Sarah Matilda (nee Lumadue) Catherman, she was raised in Woodland, PA and moved several times before settling in Hillsborough in 1968.
Lorraine worked for over 25 years at Ethicon as a Quality Assurance technician, where she was recognized for her dedication to her work and to the community. She was a 4H leader for over 15 years -- even after her children were grown and out of the house. She also served her church, Neshanic United Methodist Church, in various roles, and was known for making Chruscikis for their annual Election Day Turkey Dinner and Cabbage and Noodles for the church's donation to SHIP. She also supported Boy Scout Troup 185 in Branchburg, where her husband was the first scout master.
Lorraine was a member of the Hillsborough Senior Citizens Club Chapter A. She loved baking, reading, and spending time with her canine friends, one of which saved her life during a house fire.
Besides her parents, Lorraine was preceded by her beloved husband, Daniel H. Barnett; siblings; Martha Stonemetz, Lewis Catherman, and Isabella Tinlin.
Lorraine is survived by and will be deeply missed by her loving children, Daniel T. Barnett of New Millport, PA and Jana Roderick and her husband, David of Manville, NJ; a dear brother, James Catherman; her cherished nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887.
