Dunellen, NJ- Louis S. Passione, 92, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ. Louis was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Ciro and Caterina (nee Costagliola) Passione.
Louis served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War having received the Korean Service Medal with two bronze Stars and a Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member of Good Shepard Church in Marine Park, Brooklyn for many years. He had many years of dedicated employment at A & A Brake in Brooklyn in automotive sales. Louis was an avid sports fan, loving all sports but especially baseball, basketball and football. Louis was very family oriented and cherished his time spent with them.
Beside his parents, Louis was predeceased by his loving wife, Lucy in 2015, brothers, Andrew Passione and Biagio Passione and his sister, Rachel Passione.
Louis is survived by two dear children, Gerald Passione and his wife Mary of Southport, NC and Katherine Doherty and her husband Brendan of Dunellen, NJ. He will be deeply missed by his four loving grandchildren: Ryan Doherty, Kaitlin Voege, Kevin Passione and Matthew Passione. Louis also leaves behind to cherish his memory his three great-grandchildren: Colin Doherty, Ethan Doherty and Liana Voege along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. followed by a 12 o'clock funeral mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ. Committal words and burial will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, New York 11933.
