Marian Antoinette
Martino
Apr 12, 1929 — Jan 14, 2024
Branchburg, NJ – Marian Antoinette Martino, 94, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, filled with gratitude for the beautiful life she shared with her family, friends, and community. Born in Newark, NJ to the late Constantino and Marion Celano, Marian was raised in East Orange, NJ in a close-knit Italian American family. She dressed in finely tailored garments made by her father, enjoyed her mother's home cooked Italian cuisine and keen mind, and excelled academically as the valedictorian of the Newark West Side High School graduating class of 1947 and Summa Cum Laude bachelor's degree recipient from New York University in 1950 with a statistics major and psychology minor. She married her beloved husband, Carlo Francis Martino, in 1951 and together they started their family and became residents of Branchburg, NJ for over 70 years. Marian was a founding member of the Branchburg Women's Club and provided decades of community service working the polls every election.
More than anything, Marian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She thrived in the company of others who sought her love, advice, comfort, empathy, and candor. She is survived by her adoring husband Carlo, loving children and partners Carl and Wilma, Mark and Jill, Steve and Veerle, and Ron and Ellen, grandchildren Nick, Ellen, Annemieke, Pieter, and Rachel, great-grandchildren Carlo, Leo, Ella, Charlie, and Henry, sister Lucy Arminio and many nephews and nieces. The family extends gratitude to LaShana Jordan and Violeta Ajro for their loving hospice homecare provided to Marian during the last 6 months of her life.
A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887. Disposition will be private.
