Stockton, NJ- Marilyn V. DeStio (nee Kubat) 77, entered eternal life on Monday, July 6, 2020

at her home in Stockton, NJ, with her loving family by her side.  Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY - the city she always called home -  Marilyn was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (nee Dougherty) Kubat.

In 1970, Marilyn settled in Bound Brook, NJ, where she lovingly dedicated her life and many talents to raising her family.   In 2018, Marilyn moved to Stockton, NJ, and situated adjacent to the Wescott Preserve, she spent her last years surrounded by the beauty of the natural world she so loved.  She was an avid bird watcher and a gardener.  Marilyn had a talent for decorating and crafts, and she will be fondly remembered for creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for her family during holidays and gatherings.   Her sharp wit, eye for beauty, sense of humor, storytelling, and adventurous spirit will be greatly missed. Above all, "Grammy" Marilyn fiercely loved her nine grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them.  Nothing made her prouder than hearing of their many accomplishments - from taking their first steps to landing their first jobs.

Marilyn will be profoundly missed by her loving and devoted children, Natalie and her husband Brandon Fontaine, of Stockton, Cynthia and her husband Robert Marquis of Sergeantsville, Paul and his wife Marisa DeStio of Bridgewater, Nicole and her husband Mark Ritchie of Stockton, Christian DeStio of Bridgewater, and Melissa and her husband John Sabatino of Santa Rosa, CA; her dear siblings, Joseph and his wife Connie Kubat, Joanne Kubat and her partner Thomas Haupert, Rosemary and her husband Vini Calandruccio, and Thomas and his wife Geraldine Kubat; and nieces and nephew Cristina, Kristine, and James.

Most of all, Marilyn will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren, Erin and Liam Marquis, Elena and Nicholas DeStio, Cara and Lauren Ritchie, and Penelope, Jasper, and Holden Sabatino.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887.
