Three Bridges, NJ—Mario Secundo Macri, 72, entered into eternal life on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.  Born in San Vito, Italy, son of the late Domenico and Vitina (nee Gironda) Macri, he grew up in Bayonne, NJ before settling in Three Bridges, NJ.

In his youth, Mario was an outstanding football player.  Mario was inducted into the Bayonne High School Hall of Fame and the Hudson County Sports Hall of Fame for his numerous accomplishments on the field including leading Hudson County in scoring in both the 1962 and 1963 seasons.  He went on to play at the University of Maryland for the Terrapins.  Mario was the owner of Amici's Restaurant in Bayonne.  He was a great chef and his passion for cooking led him to opening his restaurant.

Besides his parents, Mario was predeceased by his older brother, Vito Macri.

Mario is survived by his loving wife of thirty-two years, Melanie D. (nee Fazio) Macri; his two daughters, Andrea Macri, Marisa Manning and her husband Jeff; his siblings, Victor Macri and his wife Linda, Robert Macri and his wife Marianne, Frank Macri and his wife Linda; and a dear sister, Anna Trentadue; two cherished grandchildren, Jack Spencer Manning and Eva Jane Kvederas; his dear father-in-law and friend Ron Fazio and several caring nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Wednesday, April 18 from 2-5 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. with Fr. Tom Serafin officiating.  At the family's request, the disposition will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mario's name to the Hunterdon Medical Center, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
