Obituary

Neshanic, NJ- Martha L. (Wiegand) Bordner, 89, entered into eternal life peacefully on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the Rolling Hills Care Center located in Lebanon. Born in Somerville, NJ to her late parents Joseph and Lily (Hewitt) Wiegand, she had been raised in Branchburg, lived in Raritan and then settled in Neshanic over thirty years ago.

For over twenty years, Martha was employed by Woolworth's in Somerville as a waitress, prior; she had worked at Fishmans Department Store in Somerville. She was a faithful member of the Fourth Reformed Church in Somerville.

Besides her parents, Martha was predeceased by seven dear siblings.


Surviving Martha is her loving & devoted daughter Sharon and husband Tom Bittle of Neshanic, NJ. She also leaves behind a dear sister Margaret Sofield of Somerville, NJ. Martha will be missed by her adored grandchildren Robyn and husband Steve Abramo of Belle Mead, NJ and Jason and wife Lisa Bittle stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico and her three cherished great-grandchildren Lily, Grace and Nathan all of whom were very special to her.


Funeral Services with Pastor Susan Gunther from the Fourth Reformed Church will begin 11:00am on Monday, February 14, 2005 from the Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887. Committal words and burial will take place at New Cemetery in Somerville. Relatives and Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, February 13, 2005 from 6-9pm and on Monday from 10:30am until service time. Memorial contributions in her memory may be sent to the Neshanic Fire Department or Branchburg Rescue Squad.
