Obituary

Martha M. (Deering) Hock, 94, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Travis, Staten Island, NY to her late parents Anthony and Maryann (Atlak) Deering, she lived most of her life in West Brighton, NY before settling to Readington Township.

During World War II, Martha worked at Sperry Rand in Staten Island and later retired as an assembly worker from Wallersteins in Elm Park, NY. While residing in NY she was very active with the St. Adalbert's Church in Elm Park, NY having been a member of the parents group, drama group and teen club. Martha had an exceptional gift of hospitality and loved cooking and baking for family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and was an avid NY METS fan.

Besides her parents, Martha was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Hock in 1972 and by all of her dear siblings.

Martha leaves behind her loving daughter Barbara Bogle of Flemington and will be deeply missed by her four cherished grandchildren, Edward, Martha, Andrew, and Robert.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, October 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and once again on Tuesday, October 15 from 9-10 a.m.

On Tuesday, October 15 the committal words and interment will be held 12:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Cemetery in Staten Island, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Martha's name to Hunterdon Hospice. 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
