Obituary

Sugarloaf, PA— Marvin Edward Sauers, 84, entered into eternal life on Friday, February 18, in Florida while on vacation.  Born and raised in West Hazelton, PA, son of the late Harry and Florence (nee Dolan) Sauers.
Marvin was a graduate of West Hazelton High School. He then attended Penn State University and rarely missed a Penn State football game. Marvin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering, all while raising a family. Marvin had over thirty years of dedicated employment with Union Carbide and received several patents for developments he created. He finished his career as a director with Amoco.  While working with Amoco Marvin lived in Germany for a few years. He was successful at anything he put his mind to. As a young man he was a member of the Somerville Jaycees.  Marvin was a board member for the Hillsborough Planning Board and board president for the Hillsborough Board of Adjustments and Sugarloaf Board of Adjustments.  An avid golfer, Marvin would play any chance he could. His passion for travel paralleled his love for golf. He spent winters in Mexico and traveled the world. He loved cooking and trying new recipes. As a passionate wine enthusiast/collector, Marvin loved nothing more than sharing a good bottle of wine with family and friends. He had a big heart. Marvin truly loved life!
Besides his parents, Marvin was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosemarie Ann (mee Spina) Sauers, on December 26, 2013; and siblings, William Sauers, Norman Sauers, Harry Sauers, and Rev. Robert Sauers.
Marvin is survived by two loving children, Jackie and her husband, Dale Mathewson of Hillsborough, NJ and Brian Sauers and his wife, Rosa also of Hillsborough. three cherished grandchildren, Dale Mathewson, Jr. and his wife, Brittany, Victoria and her husband, Jon Ajamian, and Julia Sauers and three adored great grandchildren, River Marie, Dale III, and Riley Rose and his companion, Anita Acri. Paps will be deeply missed by his family.
