In Loving Memory of Mary Katherine Horgan
Mary Katherine Horgan, 86, of Hillsborough, New Jersey, entered eternal life on October 11, 2026.
Born and raised in Point Pleasant, Mary was the daughter of Martin Gunnar Lovgren and Anna Lovgren. She remained closely connected to her hometown throughout her life, raising her own family in the community where she grew up.
Mary married Ronald Francis Horgan on September 15, 1962. Ronald had a wicked sense of humor and a remarkable ability to make Mary laugh, something she especially loved about him. Following his untimely passing in July 1965, Mary devoted herself to raising their two daughters, Denise and Deborah. As a young widow and mother, she demonstrated determination, sacrifice, and unwavering love. She worked hard to provide her daughters with a warm, nurturing, and loving home. Mary worked in various departments at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Her strength, dedication, and unwavering love for her family were at the heart of who she was, and the love she shared was her greatest gift.
Known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and quick wit, Mary had a wonderful, understated sense of humor. Though often quiet in nature, she had a way of delivering an unexpected, perfectly timed remark that could leave those around her laughing. She enjoyed a good laugh herself and appreciated that same sense of humor in others.
Mary enjoyed crosswords and other word puzzles, playing cards, and, above all, spending time with her family. She took great pleasure in the company of her five grandchildren, Katie, Tori (Rosie), Chris, Hannah, and Patrick, and cherished the time and memories they shared together.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Denise Lang and her husband, Joe, of Branchburg, New
Jersey, and Deborah Kovach and her husband, Chris, of Elverson, Pennsylvania; her five
grandchildren, Katie, Tori (Rosie), Chris, Hannah, and Patrick; her three sisters, Shirley, Carol, and Ann; and her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald Francis Horgan; her sister, Corine Stewart; and her brother, Martin Gunnar Lovgren, Jr.
Mary will be remembered for her quiet strength, her kindness, her quick wit, and the love she had for her family. Her warmth, laughter, and thoughtful nature will remain a cherished part of the memories of those who knew and loved her.
