Obituary

Flemington, NJ- Melanie Linda (nee Lubin) Farrell, 48, entered into eternal life on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at home in Flemington. Born in Livingston, NJ, daughter of the late Dennis and Dana (nee Weber) Lubin, she grew up in Rahway, NJ, where she lived with her grandmother, Sara Weber and two sisters, Stephanie and Sandra. After marriage she resided in Bloomfield, NJ and Readington, NJ. Melanie's last home was in Flemington.

Melanie attended Roosevelt Elementary School, Rahway Junior High School, and Rahway High School all in Rahway. She continued her education and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Kean University in Union, NJ, and then earned an MBA from Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ. During her high school years Melanie volunteered at Rahway Hospital as a candy striper and worked nights at Dunkin' Donuts. While growing up, Melanie had many friends and was very social, but her best friends where Trishia Evegan and Donna Cordosa. Melanie attended the Delany School of Dance where she concentrated on tap dancing while she was in school from grades 3-7. In her youth, Melanie's main focus was on her schooling, with the primary goal of reaching the honor roll. She was always focused on doing better for herself and achieving her goals.

In 2004 Melanie married John Farrell and resided in Bloomfield before settling in Readington. She was more of a "city girl", but the country life grew on her. Melanie and John have two sons together, Joey Farrell and Daniel Farrell. When the boys were growing up, Melanie worked part time on and off. As her children grew older, she went back into the workforce excelling in tax accounting. After divorce, she moved to Flemington and met Lewis Levine. Melanie and Lou enjoyed their time together and they loved to vacation when time allowed.

Melanie is survived by her two loving sons, Joseph "Joey" Farrell and Daniel Farrell and their father John Farrell; two dear sisters, Sandra Lopiccolo and Stephanie Gioconda; brother-in-laws, Joe and Larry; cherished nieces, Laura, Sara, Krista, and Kayla; her loving partner, Lewis Levine; aunts; uncles; and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, December 6 from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 6 p.m., and on Saturday, December 7 from 9-10 a.m.

Committal words and interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington.
