Michael Robert Kelly, 77, of Franklin Township, NJ in Hunterdon County, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Michael was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Michael served honorably in the United States Army 9th Infantry and fought for his Country during the Vietnam War, receiving the Air Medal for heroism while participating in Ariel combat. Michael rarely spoke of his experiences during the war; however, he was proud of his service to his Country and of all the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the Armed Forces.
Following his military service Michael married Patricia (Siebert) also from Brooklyn, NY, in 1968. He embarked on a nearly 50 year long career in computer technology data processing services having worked at numerous banks including Citibank from which he eventually retired in 2014. He enjoyed raising his family, was a dog lover his entire life, enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was a die-hard Giants fan.
Michael is survived by his wife Patricia of fifty-four years, two loving children, daughter Kimberly Kelly-Price (David) of Bristow, Va. and son Kevin Kelly (Colleen) of Flemington, NJ, four grandchildren Ashleigh Price, Brody Price, Colton Kelly, and Sophia Kelly.
Visitation will take place at Countryside Funeral home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 2-4 pm. and on Monday, September 11, 2023 from 9:30-10:15 am. A funeral liturgy will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by interment at New Calvary Cemetery, 490 Washington Road, Parlin,NJ.
