Three Bridges, NJ—Michael Daniel Wood, Jr., 69, of Three Bridges, Readington Twp., NJ died on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Born in Bound Brook, NJ, son of the late Michael and Margaret Williams Wood, he had lived in Plainfield, NJ for many years before settling to Three Bridges in 1980.
Mr. Wood is a 1963 graduate of Plainfield High School. He also attended Marietta College in Marietta, OH and graduated from Rutgers University in 1973. Mr Wood was an avid golfer and a former member of Copper Hill Country Club in Flemington and Stanton Ridge Country Club in Readington. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Philomena Fania Wood, also formerly of Plainfield; three sons, Michael Daniel III and Laura Gigliotti Wood, David James and Lori Risko Wood, and Paul Louis and Gina Nasuta Wood; and four grandchildren, Brianna, Paul, Jr., Chandler, and Vannessa. Also surviving is his sister, Ann Colangelo of Edison, and his brother James of Manchester.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Flemington, NJ 08822 on Tuesday, January 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 14 from 8:45-9:15 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14 beginning 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges.
