Readington Township, NJ – Modestino "Tino" Carbone, 57, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 14, 2005 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Born in Avellino, Italy to his father Louis Carbone and late mother Genevieve (Bruno) Carbone, he moved to the United States in 1951 settling in Newark until moving to the Whitehouse Station section of Readington Township 30 years ago.
Tino graduated Seton Hall University in Newark with a degree in Law. He obtained his under-graduate degree from Catholic University in Washington, DC.
An esteemed attorney, Tino practiced at the firm of Musser & Carbone in New Brunswick for 15 years and a Deputy Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General in Newark and Trenton for 18 years. Prior to practicing law, Tino was a probation officer for the Essex County Probation Department.
While living in Newark, he had served as an alter boy at St. Lucy Roman Catholic Church in. He was a member of the New Jersey Bar Association and in his spare time, he enjoyed racquetball.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Maureen G. (Gartland) Carbone, his cherished daughters, Jody, Kristin and Erin all at home, His caring father, Louis Carbone of Whippany, NJ and by his dear sister, Josephine Lacara of Charleston, SC.
A funeral service will begin on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 beginning at 9:30am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by an 11:00am funeral liturgy at St. Lucy Roman Catholic Church, 7th Avenue, Newark, NJ. Tino will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover, NJ. Relatives & friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Wednesday from 9:00am until service time. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018.
