Neshanic Station, NJ—Molly (nee Bourner) Shepherd, 104, entered into eternal life on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at All American Assisted Living in Hillsborough, NJ.  Born in Deal, Kent, England, daughter of the late William Edward and Caroline (nee Wootton) Bourner, she left home in 1930 at the age of sixteen to work in domestic service in Wimbledon, Surrey, England while also residing in New Malden, Epsom, and finally Greythorne Road, Woking (all in Surrey, England) until emigrating to the United States of America in 2003 at the age of eighty-nine.  In 2018 Molly moved to All American Assisted Living.

Later in life, Molly was primarily a homemaker but also was employed as a clerical assistant until retirement in 1980.  She loved walking; and knitting was a favorite pastime.

Besides her parents, Molly was predeceased by eight siblings and by her beloved husband William Henry Shepherd (deceased March 1, 1987) with whom she joined hands in marriage on August 15, 1936 and shared fifty years of marriage.

Molly is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Moya and her husband Michael Herbert Chiverton of Neshanic Station.  She will be deeply missed by two cherished granddaughters, Clare Deborah and her husband, Jack O'Kane and Rachel Virginia and her husband, Stephen Lynton; and four adored great-grandchildren, Ross, Joseph, Molly, and Aidan O'Kane.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a gathering at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, April 26 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  At the family's request, the disposition will be private.  At the family's request, "No need to wear black or somber clothing - keep it sunny."  In lieu of flowers (family flowers only), memorial contributions may be made in Molly's name to Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter, 100 Commons Way, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 or St. Hubert's Animal Welfare, 3201 Route 22 East, North Branch, NJ 08876.
