If you are wondering why the world seems to have less color and style today, it
is the result of the passing of Nancy Lou Loughlin Hawkinson (55) of Neshanic
Station, NJ on January 29th, 2015. After a strong and courageous battle with
illness, she left behind a legacy of beauty, grace and endless smiles for anyone
who had the pleasure of her acquaintance.
Nancy was born in Orange, New Jersey on February 27, 1959 to Thomas A. Loughlin,
Jr. and the late Dolores (Dodie) Mugan Loughlin. She graduated from Parsons
School of Design in New York City and was a designer in every sense of the word
with work, home and giving. For the past 20 years, Nancy was a free lance
designer and a family photographer conveying her sense of style. She loved to
travel and recently spent a few years living abroad in Basel, Switzerland where
she was able to visit countless European countries. Nancy was an avid tennis
player and truly enjoyed watching "her" NY Yankees and NY Giants.
She is survived by her loving husband, Erik T. Hawkinson and their three
beautiful children, Cole, Griffin and Devon; her father Thomas and his wife Tina
and her five siblings, Mary Beth Loughlin Zarecki (Steven), Thomas A. Loughlin,
3rd, (Diane), Daniel J. Loughlin (Kelly), Patrice Loughlin Colaneri (Michael),
Peter T. Loughlin (Mary Jo) and 20 nephews and nieces. Many other adoring family
members include Julie Gaevert Hawkinson (Richard), Melissa Snyder Overberg
(Paul), Jay Snyder (Donnalee), Arthur E. Hawkinson, Jr. and Judith Elaine Russo
Hawkinson.
The viewing will be held from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Monday, February 2nd at
Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Flemington, NJ 08822. The
memorial service will be held at St. Ann's Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ 08869 on Tuesday,
February 3rd at 10:00am.
