Manahawkin, NJ—Nellie F. Sanfilippo, 85, entered eternal life peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Independence Manor in Flemington, NJ.  Born on January 1, 1938 in Astoria Queens, NY, she is daughter of the late Nicholas and Pauline (nee Liggio) Curzio.  In the early 1970's Nellie resided in Nutley, NJ and then when she discovered Manahawkin she had dual residences there and in Nutley until permanently calling Manahawkin home in 1985.

Nellie was a graduate of Bloomfield College earning a Bachelor of Science degree.  As a woman of faith she was a communicant and reader at St. Mary's of the Pines in Manahawkin.  After many years of dedicated employment as an office manager at various automobile dealerships, she retired.

Besides her parents, Nellie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph C. Sanfilippo, in 2005; and her brother, Thomas Curzio.

Nellie is survived by three loving children, Pauline Sanfilippo and her husband Lib Martino of Flemington, NJ, Amelia and her husband Joseph Scordato of Belleville, NJ, and Joseph Sanfilippo and his wife Patti of Lincoln Park, NJ.  Nellie will be deeply missed by five cherished grandchildren, Sarah and her husband Andrew, Christine, Matthew and his wife Pay, Joey, and Stephen; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Wednesday, June 7, from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday, June 8, from 8:30-9:15 a.m.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8, beginning 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, NJ with Fr. Thomas J. Serafin, KCHS officiating.
