Raritan Township, NJ- Nicola "Nick" Roccio, 20, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at his college apartment in Lawrenceville. Born in Princeton, he had resided in both Kingwood Township and Madison before moving back to Raritan Township. Nicola graduated Princeton Latin Academy and was presently residing in Lawrenceville while attending Mercer County Community College in West Windsor.
Nicola was an avid fan of basketball and had enjoyed playing the game prior to a sustained shoulder injury.
Nicola was predeceased by his dear father Mario Roccio on April 15, 2009 and his maternal grandfather Martino DeSapio.
Nicola leaves behind his beloved and devoted mother Rita DeSapio of Raritan Township; his cherished maternal grandmother Lucia DeSapio of Kingwood Township and his many aunts, uncles and cousins throughout Italy and the United States each of whom will miss him dearly. He will be deeply missed by his loving girlfriend Reina Smrdelj of Union Township.
Visitation will take place at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Thursday, October 7th from 7-9 p.m., on Friday, October 8th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, October 9th from 9:45-10:15 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 9th beginning 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges. Committal words and interment will follow at St. Magdalen's Cemetery in Flemington. Memorial contributions in Nicola's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
