Norma G. LaClair
Beloved Wife, Mother, & Grandmother
Readington Township, NJ – Norma G. LaClair, 71, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 3, 2006 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Born in Lisbon, NY, to her late parents Forest and Bertha (Holland) Egales, she settled in the Three Bridges section of Readington Township 40 years ago.
Norma was a former Business Administrator at Hunterdon Central High School for over 20 years and then at the Clinton Elementary School for three years. She retired in 1995 leaving time for her and her husband Vaughn to travel the country in their recreational vehicle. Norma cherished the time that she spent with her family and friends. She also was a volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center lobby shop. Norma enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by her brother Elmer Geary Jr.
She leaves behind her devoted husband Vaughn C. LaClair, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage last July; her sons Bruce and daughter-in-law A. Janet LaClair of Readington Township, Richard LaClair of Chester, and Jim VanFleet of Key Largo FL whom for the past 30 years was considered by her to be an adopted son. She also leaves behind her dear grandchildren Ashley and Ryan of Readington Township and Daniel and Amy of Chester. She will be sadly missed by her dearest friends Barbara and Norman Sutton and their family along with her many other friends and colleagues.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2006 beginning at 11:00am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887. At the family's request, disposition will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Thursday from 10:00am until service time. In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions to be made to the Three Bridges Volunteer Fire Company, Main Street, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 or the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad , 26 State Highway 12 West, Flemington , NJ 08822.
