Branchburg, NJ – Patrick William Richards, Sr., 83, passed away peacefully at Avalon of Bridgewater in Bridgewater, NJ on August 16, 2024. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ son of the late Patrick and Dorothy (Canary) Richards, Patrick resided in Rahway, NJ and Hudson, FL prior to relocating back to New Jersey in 2017 shortly after the death of his beloved wife, Julia.

Patrick was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) where he worked as a food inspector. He enjoyed time in his garden, playing cards or bowling, and playing golf with Julia.

Besides his parents, Patrick was predeceased by his sisters, Clara and Dorothy.

Patrick leaves behind his loving son, Patrick William Richards, Jr. and his wife Shannon of Branchburg; two dear brothers, John Richards and Kevin Richards; and two cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Derek.

A gathering celebrating Patrick's life will be held on Friday, August 23, at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 from 4-7 p.m. with military honors and a religious service at 6:30 p.m.
