Bridgewater, NJ—Pedrina Polanco-Cordova, 95, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Bridgeway Care & Rehabilitation Center at Bridgewater in Bridgewater with loving family by her side. Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, daughter of the late Francisco and Berta (Marroquin) Cordova, she immigrated to the United States in 1975 residing in Bridgewater. She then lived in Somerville, NJ for fifteen years and during that time she would travel back and forth to Guatemala several times a year. She spent the last seven years in Bridgewater.
Pedrina enjoyed helping her neighbors, especially when they we sick; she was the "free town nurse". She had a very strong faith and religiously attended mass with her children. Pedrina loved spending time with family. She taught all her children how to cook and bake. She also loved to watch WWE on television.
Beside her parents, Pedrina was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jose Luis Polanco on March 6, 1959, two sons, Jorge Polanco and Antonio Polanco; two sisters, Hermelinda Cordova and Filomena Cordova; and a grandson, Frankie Galindo.
Pedrina is survived by seven loving children, Jose Luis Mayen, Manuel Polanco, Maria Rosario Erazo, Emma Polanco, Miriam Rivera, Bertha Veronica Quispe, and Gustavo Polanco; two dear sisters, Marta Bela and Carmen Aguilar; twenty cherished grandchildren; thirty-two adored great-grandchildren; four precious great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, August 21 from 1-5 p.m. and on Monday, August 22 from 8:30-9:15 a.m. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church in Bridgewater.
