Branchburg, NJ – Percy Miranda, 75, entered into eternal life on October 8, 2021, at his residence with his loving family at his side. Percy was born in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, Malaysia, to the late Cosmas Romuald Miranda and Grace Culas. A longtime resident of Malaysia, Percy moved to the United States in January 2017.
Percy was a devout catholic and a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, NJ, and formerly an active member of St. Joseph's Church in Sentul, Malaysia where he held various leadership positions including chairman of the Parish Pastoral Council. Together with his wife, Annette, he was an active team member of WWME (World Wide Marriage Encounter Malaysia). He was firm but gentle in his ways. He was a natural leader of his community, a problem solver, and a critical thinker. His favorite pastimes were reading, being out in nature, cracking dad jokes, and engaging in Malaysian political discourse. His family was of the utmost importance to him.
Percy was also a volunteer for the Befrienders organization for over 40 years. In Malaysia, Percy was a Post Master for the Malaysian Postal Service for over 30 years. After retiring from the postal service, he worked at NS Cashpoint/Western Union in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur as a compliance officer.
Besides his parents, Percy was predeceased by two brothers; Ralph and Patrick Miranda.
Percy is survived by his beloved wife of over forty years, Mary Antoinette Joachim Rajoo (Annette Miranda); three devoted children, Olivia and her husband Daniel Morton of Fertile, MN, Melissa and her husband Herbert Mauro of Branchburg, NJ, and Terence Miranda and his wife Christy of Plymouth, MN; siblings Eugene Miranda, Christopher Miranda, Phyllis Rozario, Alotious Miranda, and Feona Petrus; cherished grandchildren Dominic Miranda, Zoey Mauro and Delilah and Harry Morton, as well as step-grandchildren Angelina and Benjamin Mauro, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 9 -10:30 a.m. with eulogies and a prayer service beginning at 9:45 a.m. A funeral liturgy will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ 08887. Committal words and interment will follow at Saint Magdalen de Pazzi Cemetery in Flemington, NJ.
