Peter P. Bujnowski, 89, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington. Born and raised in Bayonne, son of the late Vincent and Pauline (Lucwin) Bujnowski, he resided in Avenel and Plainfield before settling to Flemington in 1988.
Pete honorably served our country in two of our armed forces, first as a sergeant in the United States Army from 1944-1946 during World War II and then as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1946-1951. Pete worked as a machinist with Western Electric in Kearny and later retired from AT&T in Clark. He was a parishioner of St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington, member of American Legion Post 159 in Flemington, and the Union Township Senior Citizens. Pete was an avid golfer into his late 70's, enjoyed sailing, wood working and was an "old movies" buff.
Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his dear siblings, Joseph, Stanley, Helen Sharp, Mary Mitarnowski and Bertha Gesek.
Pete leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Audrey M. (Wieszczek) Bujnowski with whom he joined hands in marriage on May 7, 1955; loving children Peter P. Bujnowski, Jr., Carrie Furlong and her husband Gordon, Paul M. Bujnowski; dear siblings, John, Edward, Thomas, William, and Henry. He will be deeply missed by is cherished grandchildren, Michelle, Nancy, Steven, Danielle and Nicholas; three precious great grandchildren, Alison, Cruz and Kellen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Thursday, February 19 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and on Friday, February 20 from 8:45 a.m. until 9:15 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20 beginning 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington.
