Union Township, NJ – Richard A. Yurasek, 80, entered into eternal rest on Friday, at his home with his family by his side. Born in the Port Richmond section of Staten Island, NY, to his late parents Andrew and Anna (Koch) Yurasek, he was raised on the family farm in Clinton and then settled in Union Township 49 years ago. Richard had worked on the family farm, then join the US Navy during WWII where he served as a Motor Mac 2nd Class. He then started Y & S Burner Service Inc.. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Clinton. Years ago he served as Master to the Sydney Grange in Clinton, was a member of the fuel merchants Association, was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing and boating. For years Richard along with his wife trained and showed German shepherds and competed at many dog shows.

Richard cherished the time that he spent with his family and friends. Surviving is his devoted wife Charlotte R. (Carroll) Yurasek with whom he joined hands in marriage January 31, 1959, his son George Walters of Bound Brook, his dear sister Jeanne Reynolds of Annandale, three adored grandchildren Tammy Vincent of South Plainfield, Eric Walters of Milford, PA and Major Michelle VanCourt serving in the US Air Force and 8 loving great grandchildren. He will also be missed by 5 special nephews and a niece: John Patrick Reynolds of Newburyport, MA, Joseph and Lawrence Reynolds of Annandale, Jeffery Reynolds of Ocean City, CA, David Reynolds of Fremont,CA, and Dr. Jeanne Roll of Belle Haven, VA.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday beginning 10:00am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 followed by an 11:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Rd, Annandale. He will be laid to rest at the family plot in St Mary's Cemetery in Clinton. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Wednesday from 9:15am until service time. Contributions in his memory may be made to Flemington Hospice, 1100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822; Immaculate Conception Church or the American Cancer Society.
