Rosemarie T. Kramer, (Rose) aged 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Rosemarie was born on January 3, 1934, in Astoria, New York, to the late James F. and Mary A. (née Murray) Darcy. She lived in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, for 64 years before moving to Flemington, New Jersey, seven years ago.

While raising her family of seven children, and when her youngest daughter reached the age of four, Rose began her academic studies. She earned her Associates degree in Sociology at Union County College, Cranford New Jersey, and went on to Seton Hall University, in South Orange New Jersey, completing her bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 1976. She then earned her Master’s degree in Sociology from Fordham University, Bronx, New York, in 1978. She later returned to Seton Hall to complete a Masters in Theology in 2002.

Rose worked for many years in Human Resources at various hospitals including St. Peter's Medical Center in New Brunswick, and Einstein University Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She also worked HR in the private sector, most recently Hudson Robotics in Springfield, New Jersey. But her most beloved title in her later years was that of Professor Kramer. Rose taught Sociology at both Seton Hall University in South Orange, and Kean University in Union for many years. She took great pride in learning and teaching, and was very fond of the many students whose lives she touched. And more recently, Rose was very proud of her role as Board Member of the Flemington Fields Condominium Association in Flemington.

Rose was active in her community and maintained close ties with her family and friends. She was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, New Jersey. She enjoyed discussing the current book of the month with her book club mates, discussing religion with her Bible study group, playing Bingo at Chick-fil-A, and, especially, meeting the "Ladies" at the gazebo. Rose was never at a loss for words! She also cherished the companionship of the many dear friends she has made since moving to Flemington, and treasured the role she played as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to members of her extended family.

Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Kramer, in 2008; her son, Christopher Kramer, in 2022; her daughter, Rosemarie Rose, in 2024; and her daughter-in-law, Mary Kramer, in 2025.

Rose is survived by her loving son, James Kramer, of Jefferson, Georgia; four loving daughters, Jeanne and her husband, Fred Gladis, of Holland Township, New Jersey; Donna and her husband, Terry Rounsaville, of Flemington; Karen and her husband, Kevin Brenner, of Clinton Township, New Jersey; and Sheila and her husband, Bob Cosgrove, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; her dear son-in-law, Steven Rose, of Wayne, New Jersey; her dear daughter-in-law, Lina Kramer, of St. Augustine, Florida; and her dear former daughter-in-law Catherine Kramer, of Colonia, New Jersey; 21 cherished grandchildren; 10 treasured great-grandchildren; and her extended family of friends, all of whom will remember her for her gift of gab, dedication to education, her strong family ties, and the lasting impression she made on those around her.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, located at 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ 08887, on Monday, September 28, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be private at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, in Madison NJ.
