Obituary

Branchburg, NJ- Rosemary C. (Walsh) Cataldi, 76, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 25, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Peter and Rosemary (Ward) Walsh, she had resided in Maplewood for 25 years before settling in Branchburg, NJ.

Rosemary was an accountant for many years yet her greatest pleasure was raising her family and the cherished memories they shared throughout the years. Her best attribute was being a great listener and she was always available to lend an ear and reassuring words. Rosemary was a parishioner of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Bridgewater, having served as a Lector there and a Eucharistic Minister at a previous parish. She was a member of the Branchburg Woman's Club, where she served as past President and Treasurer, the Woman's Club College District Past Presidents Club, and Branchburg Newcomers Club.

She and her husband were involved in many charitable endeavors throughout her lifetime, including Meals on Wheels, and also donating their time and resources to causes they believed in. Not only was she an avid reader and games lover, she thoroughly enjoyed her cups of tea. A social butterfly to the fullest, she could impart warmth on a stranger and make anyone feel at ease. A woman with strong ties to the communities she lived in, she never let anything slow her down or get in her way of enjoying life fully. Watching Jeopardy was a favorite pastime and together with her husband, they enjoyed many trips to Walt Disney World with their family. All those who knew her always admired her strength, positivity, and spirit that lit up their lives.

Besides her parents, Rosemary was predeceased by her dear sister, Patricia Vitiello.

Rosemary leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband whom she adored, her "Angel," Charles "Ang" A. Cataldi with whom she joined hands in marriage on June 5, 1965; her eight loving children: Charles A. Cataldi, Jr. and his wife Katherine, Mark Cataldi, Lisa Cataldi, Amelia Cataldi and her fiancé Graham, Andrew Cataldi, Miranda Cataldi, Peter Cataldi, and Rebekah Cataldi; two dear siblings: Diane Dzurenko and Larry Walsh. She will be deeply missed by her five cherished grandchildren: Alyssa Cataldi, Emily Cataldi and her husband Chris, Megan Cataldi, Jessica Cataldi, and Domenica Cataldi; and by three precious great-grandchildren: Emerson Diehl, Maxwell Diehl, and Eleanor Mae Wilbur. She also will be fondly remembered by her many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
