Readington Township, NJ – Ruby E. (Gary) Oberst, 87, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown. Born in Pennsylvania to her late parents Asa and Violet (Johnson) Gary, she had been a lifelong resident of Flemington.

Ruby had been employed as a nurse's aide with Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough for many years. Some of her favorite pastimes included cherished visits with her best friend Doris Roberts of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, trips to Atlantic City, whale watching, eagle watching, and attending her knitter's group, the "Social Stitchers" of Flemington.

Besides her parents, Ruby was predeceased by two dear sisters Beatrice and Helen.

Ruby is survived by her loving children, son Jim Oberst of Maine, daughter Dianne Huston of Arizona, daughter & son-in-law Linda and Glenn Hitt of Virginia, daughter & son-in-law Susan & John Domici of Readington Township with whom she had resided, and son Jon Oberst of Louisiana. She will be deeply missed by her dear sister and brother-in-law Jane and Don Murphy of Gouverneur, NY, twelve cherished grandchildren, twelve adored great-grandchildren, and her devoted dear friend Doris Roberts of Lake Hopatcong, NJ.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 beginning 10:00am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 with Pastor Dan Baker of the Hunterdon Christian Church officiating. Ruby will be laid to rest at The First Presbyterian Church of Berkshire Valley Cemetery in Jefferson Township, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the calling hours at the funeral home on Friday, November 9, 2007 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and on Saturday from 9:30am until service time.
