Obituary

Samuel Hicks of Washington, NJ went to be with his Lord this past Friday, May 20, 2011 at Easton Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born 78 years ago on March 14, 1933 in Ridgewood, NJ he was a son of the late Richard Hicks and Patience Stanley.

In 1960, he was one of 4 brothers who founded the original Hicks Brothers Paving in Hampton, NJ. In 1985, Samuel and his son Charlie founded CH Paving in Washington, NJ and he was also the founder of Henry's Paving in Asbury, NJ. In his later years, Samuel served his Lord as a founding member of Christian Assembly Ministry in Stewartsville, NJ.

Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his dear siblings, three brothers and a sister.

Samuel leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years Alicefay (Stanley) Hicks; six loving children, Debbie Hicks, Linda Petty, Sam Hicks, Jr., Henry Hicks, Nettie Hicks and Charlie Hicks; 20 cherished grandchildren and 28 precious great grandchildren. Samuel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Monday, May 23 from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, May 24 from 5-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 25 from10-10:30 a.m.

Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25 at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Hicks officiating followed by the committal words and interment beginning 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Samuel's memory to Christian Assembly Ministry, 805 Route 57, Stewartsville, NJ 08886-2102.
