It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Stanley J. Cantilina, of Flemington, N.J.

Born March 30, 1929, he was raised in Paterson, N.J. Stanley proudly served in Korea as a Combat Engineer in the Army during the Korean War. He began a long career with the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company for 30 plus years. He began his career as a lineman and then went on to be in the Special Services Division.

He met Patricia (nee Wilson) in 1957 and they later married in Sept 1960. Eventually they moved to Oakland, NJ, residing there for 40 plus years. After retiring they settled in Flemington, NJ where they currently reside.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia; daughter Susan Parent and her husband Steve of Branchburg NJ; son Stanley Cantilina Jr and his wife Kimberly of Middletown NJ; grandson Tyler Parent, his fiancée Amanda Griswold, and great granddaughter Alaia; granddaughter Jourdan Parent; his brother Peter Cantilina and his wife Irma; and many loving nieces and nephews. Stanley was predeceased by his sister Frances Close.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to Habitat for Humanity, www.habitat.org, where he was a loyal volunteer for 10 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ, 08887 from 4-7 p.m., and on Saturday, July 8 from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m.  A funeral liturgy will follow at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will take place at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ with military honors.
