Whitehouse Station, NJ- Theodore Eugene "Ted" Dames, 61, entered into eternal life on Friday, December 14, 2018 at home with loving family by his side. Born in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Theodore Eugene and Ruth May (nee McCauley) Dames, he has lived in Whitehouse Station for the past twenty-three years.
Ted was a graduate of Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, NJ, Class of 1975. He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University in Villanova, PA, Class of 1979. In his youth he was an all sport athlete. He was an ultimate Frisbee player and coach. While his children were involved in sports Ted coached all three of them and their teams. Some of Ted's favorite pastimes included but were not limited to skiing, sailing, hiking, and gardening. He was a world traveler and was proficient in playing six different musical instruments. Ted was a dedicated employee at Busch, Inc. of Virginia Beach, VA as an engineer for the past twenty-one years. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was also a faithful parishioner of The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Whitehouse Station.
Besides his parents, Ted was predeceased by two brothers, Timothy Dames and Stephen Dames.
To Ted's family he was considered the ultimate father. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Francine A. "Fran" (nee Verrier) Dames. He will be deeply missed by his three cherished children, Theodore Eugene Dames, Jr. of Whitehouse Station, Alyson McCauley Dames of Whitehouse Station, and Kevin Martin Dames of Whitehouse Station; three dear siblings, Carole (nee Dames) Hutnan, Daniel Dames, and Paul Dames; and by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, December 16 from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday, December 17 from 8-8:30 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 17 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Whitehouse Station. Ted will be entombed in the mausoleum at Immaculate Conception Cemetery & Mausoleum in Annandale, NJ.
