Loving Father, Grandfather & Friend
Readington Township, NJ – Vaughn C. LaClair, 80, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington. Born in Massena, NY to his late parents Archabale & Vera (Clark) LaClair, he moved from Brasher Falls, NY settling to the Three Bridges section of Readington Township 40 years ago.
He was a truck driver for Utility Propane in Flemington and had owned and operated G&L Mower Sales and Service in Three Bridges. Vaughn was a life member of the Three Bridges Fire Company. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling in his recreational vehicle along with his late wife Norma.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Norma G. LaClair who passed away March 3, 2006.
He leaves behind his loving sons Bruce LaClair of Readington Township and Jim VanFleet of Key Largo, FL whom for the past 30 years was considered by him to be an adopted son. He also leaves behind his dear grandchildren Ashley and Ryan of Readington Township and Daniel and Amy of Chester. He will be sadly missed by his dearest friends Barbara and Norman Sutton of Readington Township and Jim and Kathy Traynor of Three Bridges.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2006 beginning at 11:00am at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887. At the family's request, disposition will be private. On Friday, July 21, 2006, the Three Bridges Fire Department will pay tribute at 7:00pm and relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6-9pm on Friday and on Saturday from 10:00am until service time. In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions to be made to the Three Bridges Volunteer Fire Company, Main Street, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 or the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad.
