Boynton Beach, FL – William "Bill" O'Brien Kelly, 91, entered into eternal life on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Sunrise of Bridgewater in Bridgewater, NJ with his loving family at his side. Bill was born and raised in Great Neck, Long Island, NY, then resided in Huntington, NY; Ramsey, NJ; Monroe Township, NJ; and Catonsville, MD before settling in Flemington, NJ; however, he spent the majority of his time at his favorite home in Boynton Beach, FL.

Bill was a graduate of Fordham University, Bronx, NY where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He began his 48-year banking career with The Bank of the Manhattan Company at 40 Wall Street in Manhattan, which became known as Chase Manhattan Bank and is now known as JPMorgan Chase Bank. After positions with other banking institutions, Bill became President of Bankers National Bank, Elmwood Park, NJ. Bankers National Bank was acquired by Valley National Bank, Wayne, NJ in 1977 and Bill subsequently retired from that institution in 1996 after 20 years as a Senior Vice President.

Bill served his country in the United States Army Reserve for four years as a corporal, then two years of active duty in the United States Army as a Sergeant with the Army Security Agency in Korea from 1955-1956. Bill was a man of great faith and spent much of his free time volunteering for the church. He was active as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Bereavement Ministry at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church in Boynton Beach. Bill also volunteered with Hospice and the Community Caring Center of Boynton Beach.

Bill was an avid reader of biographies and entrepreneurial success stories as well as The NY Times and the NJ Star Ledger. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, golf, and tennis as well as being a local sports enthusiast. Bill was fascinated by trains, automobile engines, and was a member of the Model A Club. In later years, his greatest joy and passion was spending time with his eight grandchildren.

Beside his parents, Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Beth Kelly and son, Brian James Kelly; and siblings, Kevin Kelly, Eileen Lux, and Peter Kelly.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Nancy Ann (nee Bousquet) Kelly; loving children, Lynne and her husband Ronald Biegel of Cornwallville, NY; Brent Kelly and his wife Caroline of Virginia Beach, VA; and Bruce Kelly and his wife Julie of Montville, NJ. He will be deeply missed by eight cherished grandchildren, Raven Lurie Kelly and his wife Lucy, Jason Biegel and his wife Sarah, Jeffery Biegel, Victoria Biegel, Brian Kelly, Dillon Kelly and his fiancé Eleanor Davies, Kacie Kelly, and Kristina Kelly; two adored great grandchildren, Victor Biegel and Olivia Lurie Kelly; as well as the extended Kelly and Bousquet families, including nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Wednesday, April 20th from 8:15-10:15 a.m. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral mass at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges with Fr. Thomas J. Serafin, KCHS officiating. Committal words and interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
