Zachary "Zach" James Allen, 15, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at his home in Whitehouse Station. Born in Summit, son of Christopher E. and Victoria A. (Popolo) Allen, he resided in Scotch Plains as a toddler before settling to Readington Township thirteen and a half years ago.

Zach was a sophomore student at Hunterdon Central High School and was a manager for the varsity ice hockey team. In July of this year Zach became a black belt martial artist having trained for the past nine years with Tenchi Isshinryu Karate Dojo in Lebanon. He was a communicant at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Whitehouse Station and was active with their Youth Group. This summer Zach had worked as a softball umpire with the Readington Recreation Department.

Besides his loving parents, Zach is survived by a dear sister and brother, Julia Rose Allen and Jesse William Allen. He will be deeply missed by cherished maternal grandmother, Dorothy A. Popolo of Branchburg and paternal grandmother, Mary D. Allen of West Orange; adored aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and fellow classmates.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Flemington, NJ 08822 on Friday, October 11 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday, October 12 from 8-8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will begin on Saturday, October 12 at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 390 County Road 523, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889 with Fr. Leonard F. Rusay officiating. Committal words will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Clinton.
